Skyline’s affordable, custom-made pieces can be found at top retailers online and across the country.
Skyline Furniture is seeking a highly experienced Senior Woodshop Operations Manager to lead our woodshop facility and furniture frame manufacturing operations. This role has full responsibility for Skyline’s standalone woodshop building, where frames are cut and machined, as well as oversight of frame assembly operations located in a nearby production facility.
Reporting to the Director of Factory Operations, this position requires deep woodworking and CNC expertise, strong people leadership, and a comprehensive understanding of upholstered furniture frame design and manufacturing. The ideal candidate is comfortable working from 3D-modeled furniture frame designs, with experience reviewing or modifying models created in Fusion (Fusion 360) to support efficient CNC machining and assembly.
Primary Responsibilities
Woodshop & Facility Operations
Own day-to-day operations of Skyline’s dedicated woodshop facility, including staffing, production flow, safety, maintenance, and housekeeping.
Ensure the woodshop building, equipment, and infrastructure are maintained to high operational and safety standards.
Coordinate material flow and logistics between the woodshop and the frame assembly operation in the adjacent production facility.
Frame Manufacturing & Assembly Leadership
Oversee all furniture frame manufacturing activities, including CNC machining, cutting, sub-assembly, and final frame assembly.
Lead and supervise teams across both locations, ensuring consistent standards, communication, and accountability.
Align frame production output with upholstery and final assembly schedules to support overall factory performance.
CNC & Machining Operations
Manage the operation, setup coordination, and performance of multiple CNC routers and woodworking machines.
Optimize CNC programs, tooling strategies, and workflows to improve efficiency, accuracy, and material utilization.
Troubleshoot machining and production issues and work directly with operators to resolve root causes.
Furniture Frame Design & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Maintain a strong working knowledge of upholstered furniture frame design, joinery, and structural requirements.
Collaborate with Design, Engineering, and Upholstery teams to ensure frames are manufacturable, durable, and consistent with design intent.
Work with frame designs modeled in Fusion (Fusion 360) to support CNC programming, machining accuracy, and efficient frame assembly.
Provide feedback and recommendations on frame designs to improve strength, consistency, cost, and ease of assembly.
Production Planning, Quality & Continuous Improvement
Plan and schedule woodshop and frame assembly production to meet demand and minimize bottlenecks.
Ensure all frames meet Skyline’s quality standards for strength, squareness, and fit.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste, rework, and downtime across both operations.
Safety, Compliance & Equipment Maintenance
Champion a strong safety culture across the woodshop and frame assembly teams.
Ensure compliance with all OSHA, local, state, and company safety requirements.
Oversee preventive maintenance and safe operation of all woodworking and CNC equipment.

Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, CNC files, and production specifications.
