Human Resources Generalist

Skyline Furniture is seeking a detail-oriented and people-focused Human Resources Generalist to support the daily operations of the Human Resources department within our growing furniture manufacturing business. This role will partner closely with the Director of Human Resources to administer HR programs, ensure compliance, support employee relations, and assist with onboarding, benefits administration, and training initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities
Human Resources Operations & Compliance
- Support compliance with all Federal, State, and local employment laws and regulations, including accurate record-keeping and personnel file maintenance
- Assist with preparation, maintenance, and auditing of employee records and HR documentation
- Support the preparation and submission of required employment-related forms (e.g., COBRA notifications, workers' compensation documentation, separation paperwork)
- Assist with accident reporting and coordination with insurance carriers, as needed
Employee Relations & Support
- Serve as a first-line resource for employee questions related to policies, procedures, benefits, and general HR matters
- Assist the Director of Human Resources in addressing employee concerns, investigations, and resolution of workplace issues
- Support employee separation processes, including documentation and exit interview coordination
Benefits Administration
- Assist with administration of medical, dental, vision, and workers' compensation programs
- Support employee enrollment, changes, and education related to benefit programs
- Coordinate with payroll and accounting to ensure accurate benefits-related deductions and reporting
Recruiting & Onboarding
- Support recruiting and hiring efforts, including job postings, applicant tracking, interview coordination, and onboarding logistics
- Assist with new hire orientation and onboarding processes to ensure a positive and compliant employee experience
Training & Development Support
- Assist with the coordination and administration of training programs developed by the Human Resources Director
- Support documentation and distribution of training materials, learning objectives, and assessment
- Help track training completion and maintain related records
- Provide logistical support for training related to safety, quality, technical skills, harassment prevention, and other required programs
Communication & Reporting
- Assist in preparing internal HR communications related to policies, procedures, benefits, and training initiatives
- Support reporting and data collection related to HR metrics, compliance, and departmental goa
Qualifications
- 2–5 years of Human Resources experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
- Bilingual/Spanish speaker preferred
- Working knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and benefits administration
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and confidentiality
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with employees at all levels
- Collaborative, service-oriented mindset with a willingness to learn and grow within the HR function
