Creative Director
Job Description
As the Creative Director at Skyline Furniture (Cloth & Company), you will play a pivotal role in shaping the visual identity and creative direction of our brand. You will lead a talented team of designers and creatives to develop innovative and compelling products, designs, and branding strategies.
Responsibilities
- Team Management:
- Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the creative team, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Set clear goals and expectations for team members and evaluate performance regularly.
- Delegate tasks effectively, ensuring optimal utilization of team resources and talent.
- Foster a culture of creativity, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.
- Customer Support:
- Collaborate with Account Management team to develop customer-specific strategies inclusive of product and textile development, 3d rendering efforts, and marketing initiatives.
- Create compelling presentations for potential and existing customers to showcase product lines, brand identity, and creative concepts.
- Trend Responsibilities:
- Research and analyze global trends in design, fashion, culture, and consumer behavior.
- Translate trend insights into actionable strategies for product development, branding, and marketing.
- Collaborate with design and marketing teams to integrate trend-inspired elements into product designs, marketing campaigns, and brand activations.
- Product Development:
- Lead the conceptualization, design, and development of new products from ideation to launch.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product development, account management, and manufacturing to ensure product alignment with brand vision and market needs.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, market insights, and consumer preferences to inform product development strategies.
- Textile Design:
- Oversee and manage the textile design process from concept development to finalization, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to design briefs.
- Work closely with freelance textile designers to develop patterns that meet quality standards and production requirements.
- Textile Sourcing:
- Identify and evaluate potential textile suppliers based on quality, cost, reliability, and ethical standards.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with textile suppliers to ensure competitive advantage and cost efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define textile requirements and specifications for product development.
- Branding:
- Define and maintain the brand's visual identity, including logos, typography, color palettes, and brand guidelines.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure brand consistency across all touchpoints, including packaging, advertising, social media, and digital platforms.
- Photography and Videography:
- Direct and oversee photoshoots and videography for product campaigns, marketing materials, and social media content.
- Work closely with photographers, videographers, stylists, and models to achieve desired aesthetics and brand messaging.
- Edit and retouch images and videos as needed to meet quality standards and brand guidelines.
- Social Media and Website Oversight:
- Develop and implement social media strategies to increase brand visibility, engagement, and followership.
- Oversee the creation of content for social media platforms, ensuring alignment with brand identity and messaging.
- Monitor and analyze social media performance metrics to optimize content and strategy.
- Collaborate with web development teams to ensure the website reflects the brand's aesthetic and messaging.
- Oversee the creation and updating of website content, including product pages, collection pages, and landing pages.
- Collaborations:
- Identify and initiate collaborations with external partners, influencers, and brands to enhance brand visibility and reach new audiences.
- Coordinate cross-promotional activities and creative projects with collaborators to maximize mutual benefits and brand exposure.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Design, Fine Arts, Fashion, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Proven experience 5-10 years in a similar role within the furniture or related field.
- Demonstrated success in building and leading high-performing creative teams.
- Strong creative vision and ability to translate concepts into compelling visual designs.
- Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
- Strong understanding of textiles, fabrications, and production processes.
- Knowledge of branding principles and experience developing brand identities.
- Experience with photography and videography direction, including knowledge of video editing software.
- Experience with social media management, website oversight, collaborations, trend analysis, customer presentations, and team management.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
