Associate Designer

Skyline Furniture is seeking a talented Associate Designer to join our creative and product development team. This role is ideal for candidates with foundational design experience who are eager to contribute to textile development, product design, and technical drawings while continuing to build their skills. The Associate Designer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, creative environment.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Support the development of new textiles, including pattern, color, and fabric applications for furniture products.
  • Assist in product design, contributing to the creation and refinement of new furniture styles.
  • Create and update product spec sheets and technical drawings using AutoCAD.
  • Contribute to 3D modeling and rendering in 3D Studio Max for product mock-ups and visualizations (as needed).
  • Organize and maintain design assets in the digital asset management system, ensuring accurate tagging and metadata.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure product designs and textile specifications meet brand standards and customer requirements.
  • Conduct design audits and support adjustments, palcements, or removals of products in collaboration with internal and client teams.
  • Provide design support for sales initiatives, including cover sheet develpment, system uploads, and presentation materials.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of related professional experience required: Bachelor's degree in Design, Industrial Design, Textile Design, or a related field preferred.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD for creating technical drawings and spec sheets.
  • Strong understanding of textile design, color, and material application.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (especially Photoshop) required.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Word; ability to use formulas in Excel a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to problem-solve, manage multiple projects, and work independntly.
  • Nice to have: experience with 3DS Studio Max or other 3D modeling/rendering software.
